Talking about Fanfic
Feb. 24th, 2016 06:35 pmSo all of a sudden I'm finding myself writing B5 fic again. Trying to finish these pesky WIPs! The problem is, I haven't watched the show since I sort of dropped out of fandom/quit writing fic. I'm constantly googling things or checking the B5 wiki because I don't remember shit. "Thingy Delenn uses to make the Chrysalis" - right, the Triluminary! "When does Delenn get the Triluminary?" And so on.
Basically I'm the worst fan.
It was kind of fun reading through some of my old fic, though. Every now and then I would be like, this isn't half bad! And it's nice to take a break from all my "real" writing on occasion. I don't know how many people are even still on LJ that are still actively in B5 thingies, but at a certain point you have to write for yourself anyway.

Jan. 31st, 2016 11:01 amHi all! I've been meaning to post for the last couple weeks (she said, as always), but I woke up this morning like, I know I signed up for B5 Love Month and I don't remember the day, so I better check that it's not tomorrow!
It's Wednesday, so I need to...get started...on something...
Anyway, there are still lots of open days, so if you'd like to do even a little something, please head over to Babylon 5 Love Month and sign up! I'm publicly declaring now that I am going to write a new chapter on one of my WIPs. Probably for my second day later in the month.
(And since no one's yet signed up for tomorrow, I'm mayhap going to try to put together a l'il something.)
I definitely need to post about The X-Files (!!!) revival. I planned to last week, but we were swamped at work. I'm not sure this week is going to be any better, but once you reach a certain point of chaos, and it becomes the norm, you adjust. Life, uh, finds a way, as Dr. Malcolm would say, and life for me at work is having time to write and do random fandom shit.

Sorry I've been incommunicado lately; I'm busting my ass trying to get this script done by Monday for the first of the competition deadlines. Jun. 27th, 2012 10:17 pmI started working on the next chapter of Metamorphoses today! I posted the last chapter in September of 2010. I'm pretty sure I'm officially the worst. I had to reread the whole thing myself to remember what I was doing with it, whooooops.
Anyway, I was trying to keep it canon, but in thinking about how I wanted to end it, I found myself having a bit of a dilemma. So I'm just going to throw some questions out to the crowd.
If you're reading a canon-compliant WIP and it turns non-canon-compliant, does this bug you? More specifically, with regards to John/Delenn, do you view their kiss at the end of "And the Rock Cried Out..." to be their actual first kiss, or just the first one we were shown?
Probably showing my hand there, but I am genuinely curious.
