Yes.  I woke up and watched the royal wedding.  To speed things up, I'm going to make a list of IDCs and IDGAFs:

1. I woke up at 4am to watch the wedding.
2. I love the royal family.
3. I love Charles and Camilla.
4. I think Charles is handsome.
5. I hope he doesn't abdicate, and I hope Camilla becomes Queen.
6. Sometimes I feel left out being an American and not having a monarchy.
7. William should just shave that strip of hair up top and own being totally bald.
8. I thought everyone looked gorg and I love the hats.
9. I thought about William getting married in the same place where William the Conqueror was coronated, and the idea of that much tradition and everything made me a little teary-eyed.  Of course, it was also like way early.
10. I love the Queen so much - I will totally cry if (not when, IF) she ever dies.  DON'T DIE LIZ OKAY.

Now I'm kinda...punchy?  I went back to sleep and dreamed that my family was at the wedding and everyone was committing horrible social faux pas and didn't feel terribly rested, but I could be feeling worse.  I'll eventually do something productive today.  Maybe.

Hee, love your list -- I wouldn't have had you pegged as a royal family -ophile. I kind of wanted to get up and watch the ceremony, but I've been short on sleep and got to bed late last night. :/ Saw pics this morning, though -- gosh her dress was gorgeous. (I'm *such* a girly girl when it comes to obsessing over wedding dresses. Also, I've recently decided that I'm a sucker for all things Kate Middleton, and that I'm ok with that.) Interesting that there weren't any bridesmaids.

I'd say I became interested in the royal family with the one-two punch of Her Majesty Mrs. Brown and Elizabeth - those are two excellent movies, portraying two most amazing queens. So I started reading, and have sort of continued since then.

Her dress was very pretty - traditional, yet modern. Very Grace Kelly. I wish she hadn't been quite so tan, but that's the tiniest of nitpicks.

I thought her sister was her bridesmaid? Unless she was just train-holder and baby-wrangler, LOL.

I love Her Majest Mrs. Brown, and I saw Elizabeth when it first came out, but don't remember it very well.

Yeah, I checked out clips on youtube after I posted, and figured that out. She looked amazing, too.

Everyone loves the queen. How can you not? She's awesome. And, IDK why, but somehow having a country led for so many years by a queen sounds so much cooler than having a king for that long.

7. William should just shave that strip of hair up top and own being totally bald.

This, for infinity.

Absolutely - I love all of England's long-reigning queens. They are all BAMFs of the very highest order.

Heh, yeah, I could have just watched it online at any time, but there's something about watching major things like that live. IDK.

About #7 ... I thought that too! He looks so weird with the hair like the way it is now. Only thing he has to be careful not to meet the Fringe crew, they'll think he's an ObserverXD

Oh an to #6 ... we don't have a monarchy either. We had but it's forbidden by the German constitution now. We have some royals left but nobody cares too much for them.

I've had this fascination with the British monarchy for quite some time, now. I think the Plantagenets were the first group I studied in detail. What's amazing is how intertwined the present European royals are. Most of them trace back to Queen Victoria.

I was living in England when my son was born in Feruary of 1982 so I feel a kind of special attachment to William. I think my favorite part of their relationship is how he supports Kate. He has always projected the utmost confidence in her. When he looked at her in the cathedral and told her she looked beautiful, I absolutely melted.

Her Majesty was coronated on the day I was born so I feel a connection to her as well. I've watched her for years. She apparently has a wicked sense of humor and was responsible for opening up the family for more behind the scenes looks. The whole world will mourn her but with her family history, I don't expect that to happen any time soon.
