WHAT JUST HAPPENED ON FRINGE

GUYS

AAAAHHHH

So was Nina replaced?  Has she been locked up in that basement for all the time that fake Nina's been dosing her?  Why am I just now wondering for the very first time why we've never seen Alt!Nina before has that been addressed before and I just missed it/don't remember it?  WHY IS THERE A DISORIENTED NINA IN THE BASEMENT?!

I of course knew the second Olivia left the car something bad was going to happen.  Like, hello Fringe writers, I HAVE WATCHED AN EPISODE OF TV BEFORE OF COURSE WE ALL KNEW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.

(I think I'm mostly excited because this is like the second episode of Fringe I've managed to watch live out of the last ten or so.)

See, now I'm wondering if we ever saw Alt!Nina back in Ol' Blue, either.

You mean like just randomly evilling around? That would be awesome even beyond the level of something like Peter saying he remembered the GI Joe looking different in "Inner Child" or the substance in the bus from "Ghost Network" being Amber. I'm not sure how they would reveal that without taking us all the way back to Blueverse, though, which I get the impression they aren't inclined to do.

I've wondered what alt!Nina is up to, or if she even existed, pretty much since the end of S2, but it's been very much in the background. (Mostly I wanted more of our Nina, and especially our Nina being vaguely evil.)

My working theory now has to be that we've seen this alt!Nina the whole season.

That would make sense. Otherwise we presumably would've had a scene before the end of "Wallflower" that we would now look back on and go, "OH, that's when they put alt!Nina in our!Nina's place!"

the Other Side in the amber continuum (my God we need a better nomenclature for this shit)

We desperately do. Back during the first or second episode, I came up with Cyanverse and Pinkverse, since they're versions of Blue and Red with something missing (i.e., Peter), but the internet at large went with Amber and Red, and I went along with that. But I would've enjoyed Cyan and Pink.

are they not aware their Nina is missing?

Or are they even aware of her at all?

I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS! But they are the best kinds of questions, where I'm just so excited about the fact the show has taken me someplace unexpected, and I just want to know moooooore.

Yes! I am so glad to be here instead of spinning our wheels like we were for all too much of the middle of this season.

but the internet at large went with Amber and Red,

See, I think Amber works well, but you still have to differentiate between Here and There. Amber Here and Amber There? Oh, Fringe, you do make things difficult. (Do we know what the writers call them?)

Do we know what the writers call them?

I don't think so. I think I remember them calling the two sides Over Here and Over There when there was just one timeline, but I haven't heard them mention it since Peter messed with things.
