Some days I just can't think of a title.
Oct. 5th, 2010 03:46 pmI'm in the kitchen, helping my mom start cooking dinner. She has Little House on the Prairie on. She asks me what Melissa Gilbert is doing today. I say I don't know; TV movies or something.
"I wonder if she's still married to what's-his-name."
I cannot let her see my secret and embarrassing crush! "Um, Bruce Boxleitner, right? I think they are. Still married. Um. Yeah."
I do not set off any of her alarms. After a minute or so: "Wasn't he on that show you like?"
"Yes. Babylon 5."
"No, the remake one."
"Yes, he's in TRON. The new one, too."
"No. The show they did a remake of." I don't answer her, because I have no idea what she's talking about. Another minute passes. "The one with Mary McDonnell."
"Battlestar Galactica? He wasn't on that."
"Are you sure?"
"Mom, that was Edward James Olmos."
"No, the original."
"That was Dirk Benedict."
Five solid minutes pass. Then: "Buck Rogers!"
I came down and got on IMDB. I don't know if I have the heart to tell her that no, Bruce Boxleitner was not on the 1970s remake of Buck Rogers. I do not even know what she was thinking. Still, bless. ♥
This morning I helped my Grandpa run some errands. We took his dog in for shots and his annual check-up; we did his bi-weekly trip to the store to buy two specific items (juice and milk today); we finally used the gift card he got for his birthday back in March to buy him some fleece-lined jeans. We stopped at Wendy's for lunch. Now, I have not eaten at Wendy's in a powerful long time. I saw that they had a new salad, and that it looked tasty - apples and cranberries and pecans and grilled chicken. I'm not a fan of salad dressing, and to enjoy a dry salad I need a lot of flavor.
So I bought that salad.
Then I went back to Grandpa's house to eat lunch with him.
Then I opened up that salad.
