TV Meme Day 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new).

I watched the first two or three episodes back at UT, then I must have gotten busy and/or canceled Netflix and that was that. I liked it okay, but it was everyone in the TWOP thread for Babylon 5 talking about how Farscape is right up there with that show in terms of their love that made me decide to try it out again. I watched the pilot last night, since I didn't remember anything, and I wasn't immediately hooked but I'll give it awhile. Shows are so hard to judge when they first start; it's pretty, though, and I like the tall blue alien lady (who is not in this photo, that's a different blue alien lady), so that's a good start.

I'll be curious to see what you think - I tried it, but then gave up. It may also be that the DVD I watched was in a pretty horrible quality - I need my shows to be pretty.

Okay, so you have B5 icons, Firefly icons, XF icons, BSG icons...are we the same person?!

It really takes me awhile to figure out if I like a show or not, especially with older shows where the first season can be so dodgy; I mean, it wasn't until I hit the end of S2 with B5 that I was like, oh shit I like this show. Heh.

Just commenting here because I'm a giant Farscape fan. I do hope you get the time to give it a good try, because it's really so very awesome imo.

Also I'm confuzzled. I only see a few days of this tv meme in your LJ. Did you only do the end of it?

I finally got S1D2 from the library, so I'm still giving it a go; I ended up having to watch True Blood this month (SOOOOKEEEEH), so my other shows got stuck on the back burner for a bit.

Yeah I've been keeping up with True Blood too, even though I am annoyed with like half the characters on there!

The first season of Farscape is somewhat similar to the first season of B5. Not so much with the plot set up (but a little) but more with the character and relationship building. There are some definite crap episodes in s1 though, but I definitely think its worth it. I hope you can enjoy it!

I'm actually enjoying True Blood more this season than last - and I liked Maryann; it just felt like they only had enough plot for about seven episodes and were spinning their wheels quite a bit. I find I have a hard time watching it every week, so I let myself fall behind so I can just watch the whole thing in a few days or so; for me, the story works better that way, and I don't have time to think about plot holes or the characters being completely stupid.

I'm definitely going to stick with it, just because I've heard so much about it. And I'm very forgiving of first seasons, especially with shows that have a lot of world-building to do.
