So I've obviously been terrible about updating again.  It's been for a few reasons, all of which I'm very aware of, but it doesn't seem to make much difference.  For one, it's been summer reading at the library, so I've been very busy at work.  But I think more importantly are two things going on at home.  Firstly, I've really made an effort to not get on my home computer much.  I'd developed a very bad habit about coming home from work, where I'd often been on the computer all day, and just getting on the computer again for the rest of the evening.  But secondly, I've been doing a daily journal this year.  A lot of the time, once I write about my day in my journal, there just isn't the impetus to write it all up again for LJ.

Of course, part of it is not really being involved much in any kind of fandom, either.  I was doing pretty well with making icons for [livejournal.com profile] theiconthrone there for awhile, but that's fallen off my radar, too.

I continue to miss LJ, especially my first couple years on here; I miss having messages to respond to, and having assorted amounts of fun.  I don't know - it just seems more difficult for me lately to make the time for it.  I always go to bed each night thinking of all the things I didn't get done; there just isn't enough day for me anymore, it seems like.

(It doesn't help that I feel guilty for not keeping up on y'all's blogs.  Like, if I can't make the time to stay up-to-date with what's going on in your lives, what right do I have to post anything here and expect any of you to read it?  I have the oddest social media-related anxiety sometimes, IDK.)

Anyway, I'm going to try (again, as always, ad infinitum) to be a bit more dilligent about checking in at least weekly.  I need to, like, set aside one day in particular for LJ stuff.  Maybe that'll work, heh.

Finding Dory was super-cute! I think I may have liked it better than Finding Nemo, actually. And yes, Baby Dory is like the sweetest and most adorable thing I've ever seen, basically.

Midnight Special was very good. It reminded me some of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, if you've ever seen that movie. Real, regular people struggling to deal with something extraordinary. Zootopia I liked, but probably more for the world in general than the actual story, which was a little silly (even considering it's a kid's animated movie).

Writing is going well. I'm nearing the end of a new screenplay right now. That's probably why my time is so limited for other things, actually, because I've been pretty good about writing most days.

I have seen Finding Nemo so much I don't know yet if it can be dethroned by its sequelxD But I'm even more excited now :D

I admit I haven't, but I have heard of it.
Yeah that world was fascinating! I liked the story for the themes it hit, I'd love to know how well kids understood them in relation to society and what they experience.

woho :D What's the screenplay about?

I highly recommend Close Encounters if you've never seen it. Richard Dreyfuss is really, really good in it, and it's classic Spielberg.

The screenplay is about a guy who moves to a small town with his disabled daughter. One of their first nights in their new home, someone breaks in. The man starts dating the cop who makes the report...only to find out she was the one who broke into the house, when she starts stalking him. And what do you do when your stalker is a cop?

I'll put it on my list :)

Sounds intresting, how did you get the idea?

It wasn't actually my idea, heh. My manager gave me a one-page treatment with the basic idea, although in that one the person being stalked was a young female recent college grad, with a male cop stalking her. And I was like, I'd love to do this, but I'm gonna gender-swap it. And my manager was cool with that, so that's where I went.
