So in an attempt to jump-start my posting in the new year, I am going to do this TV/gif meme I yanked from [livejournal.com profile] ghanimasun.  Because I haven't done graphics at all in so long, and miss it and am afraid I'll forget how to use Photoshop, I am also going to endeavor to do some type of graphic each day.  Bear with!

Day 1 - A show that should never have been canceled

This is a tough one, because there are so many shows I have loved and lost due to fickle cancellation, but I am going to go with my dear, departed Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.  If you never watched it, you're missing out on one of the most philosophical, meditative, yet action-packed and amazing SF shows to air in the last decade.  It picks up from the Terminator mythos following Judgment Day, but then goes on its own unique way, really exploring the nature of what it means to be human, what it means to evolve, and what it means to be loyal.  Wonderful acting from a fantastic cast, beautifully shot, and featuring the music of Battlestar Galactica composer Bear McCreary.

Day 1 - A happy gif

TSCC - I remember that I loved it but have to admit that I can't remember much about the actual storylines - except for he main one of course. Maybe I should watch it again some day. And I do remember that I was sad they cancelled it - after all the characters finally were at a place you could work with them in so many great ways. *sigh*

I know!!! The series finale was so amazing, and I was sooooo excited about what would happen next...and then canceled. I'm still bitter about it.

Do I have to watch the Terminator movies to get the show? I mean I don't have time right now to check out anything new, but the time will come when I need some good SF show because I don't have one anymorexD

I don't think so - if you know at least the basics of the Terminator universe you should be good. And the basics are basically just robots and time travel. :D

I didn't know a single thing about the films and still had no problems following the show. Go for it!

The graphic component is definitely going to be fun to see! Looking forward to seeing your answers to everything as well.

And you may have made me slightly more likely to watch TSCC with your description here. (Also that one dude I think is the dad on Raising Hope which makes me want to watch this show more, just to see him in a non goofy role!)

OMGGGGG Garret Dillahunt is so amazing in TSCC. I'd seen him in this or that before, but this is where I really took notice of him. To say anything about his character would be to spoil you, so suffice it to say that he is just absolutely remarkable, and I stan him now for life.

Ahhh dammit, now I just want to watch more!

I don't even know why but sometimes I love him the best on Raising Hope (which is impressive since there's a lot of awesome people on that show!).

(And now I have ot go find a Raising Hope icon!)

He is SO funny on Raising Hope, and so convincingly plays someone who's not that bright, which is all the more impressive considering how smart he is, and how good a dramatic actor he is, too. Like seriously, I stan for him.

I don't think I have a Raising Hope icon, either. I've sadly fallen behind on that show, and this discussion has made me want to catch up.
