Ahh, the new Kim Stanley Robinson book made it to the library! It's very exciting when your favorite author releases a new book when he only puts one out every three years or so. Of course, it came in on my late day, and I'm stuck at work till 9pm. But then I am going home, getting directly into my jim-jams, plopping into bed with cats, and reading till I can't keep my eyes open anymore.
I will report back with what is likely to be a glowing review in like four days or so. I AM SO EXCITED EEE. This on top of Curiosity this week, I'm just all of a sudden flung back to 1999, when I was fucking obsessed with KSR and space and Mars and NASA and everything. Sigh.

Date: 2012-08-09 02:54 am (UTC)Ugh, Kim Stanley Robinson is THE BEST. He wrote my favorite books ever, the Mars Trilogy, which contain my favorite fictional character of all time, Sax Russell. I literally cannot recommend him enough. KSR is the definition of a flawless victory.
(My God, that icon. Buffy's face. Heeeeeeeee.)

(I feel the same way about my undergrad degree; I would imagine a lot of people do. Sigh.)
