First World Problems

Today was pretty much the epitome of them, so I won't bore anyone with the details.  I've spent a lot of time musing on the difficulties of communicating in a 100% text environment, along with the conflicting urges of "apologize again to make things better" and "yell back even louder to be the one who wins."  Will likely just leave it at a stalemate.

LIMS motto: Make the exact same icon as everyone else, and you will succeed.  (Yes, being voted out this early did hurt my feelings for real, and yes, I am bitter about it.)

Also, re: writing 10 pages a day for a solid week?  So far we're at 4 pages over 2 days, so suffice it to say that's probably not going to happen, hee.  It didn't help that I struggled for a solid hour on how to write a single scene and came up with the brilliant solution of "that scene sucks just don't write it." 

Of course, it doesn't help that after working an eight-hour day, I come home to work some more.  Being able to work at home and in my jammies notwithstanding, a second job is still a second job.  I definitely need the money, but boo, today is not the day.

To end on a less woe-emo note, Fiona Apple is playing in Kansas City, MO on July, 17.  My sister has already said she won't go with me, so now I'm trying to find someone else to go.  But if I don't?  Gonna see her by myself, because Fiona is queen.  I'm already pre-excited about the concert. 

Also, I got three compliments on my nails today and one on my hair, so that made me feel marginally better. :)

Now to eat some Easter candy while I make dinner, eat my dinner while I do twenty minutes of internet things, then back to work.

Is your second job full-time as well? That's a lot of work, even in jammies.

What is LIMS exactly, and who wouldn't like your icons??

The last episodes of S1 of Heroes were quite good! I even liked the beginning of S2 so far. I gather it goes off the rails, but it's fun so far.

Sometimes the scene just does suck and is better off not written. 10 pages a day would be awesome. I squeezed out a few hundred words last night and was terribly glad to just get that much done.

Feel better. What's your favorite Easter candy?

No, it's about 20 hours a week. It just feels like more than that, heh.

The end of S1 of Heroes is just really great TV. S2 is shaky but I think has some really good stuff and straightens out at the end. S3 goes off the rails and then there are three or four really good episodes and I got very hopeful...and then boom. I didn't watch S4 but apparently it was a hot mess.

My favorite Easter candy seems to change each year. Last year I was all about jelly beans. This year I'm really digging the plain M&Ms.

My feelings would be hurt too about that. I did one last author standing and about the same thing happened.

At least you set yourself those writing goals and try for it.

Yay for a show! I've never gotten up the nerve to go by myself (except for one in town that was very small), but some artists are just worth it.

I've never gone to a concert by myself, either, but faced with the choice of seeing Fiona alone and not seeing her at all, I'm just gonna have to go alone. The end.

That sucks you got kicked out of the lims so quickly, I'm sorry. (Though I'm slightly curious now as to which lims it was. So I can tell everyone in it they're stupid for voting you out.)

And coming from someone who doesn't write at all, writing 10 pages a day sounds like an incredible amount of work, especially on top of two jobs and getting your new house all settled in.

Also I would love to see Fiona Apple with you if I didn't live half a country away or if I was super rich. Or if we made advanced complicated plans that made things super cheap for poor me.

The most I've ever written for a sustained period of time was when I wrote a full draft in a month, which averaged out to just under 5 pages a day - and I was in school, then, and it was my primary focus. So I know there's absolutely no way 10 pages a day would EVER happen. But the more ridiculous the goal, the more I get done.

I wish you lived closer (or I lived closer, LOL), too! That would be cool.
