1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot chocolate, bitches. I mean, I love egg nog, but it is intense, and I will just sip on a teeny tiny glass forever. Hot chocolate is perfect.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Santa only brings the biggest and most expensive present, one for each person, and it only appears Christmas morning. He puts them unwrapped on the couch. Santa don't have time to be wrapping presents! LBR.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
Colored! Colored colored colored! I especially love that the great big single colored lights for on your house have come back; for awhile you could only buy the tiny lights.
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
No. We have wreaths and bunches of holly and other assorted greenery, though.
5. When do you put your decorations up?
We're slacking this year, but everyone's busy and stressed (about non-holiday stuff). Normally we get things up the weekend of Turkey Day or the weekend after.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish?
Leftover cold ham on a roll next to a big scoop of jello salad for breakfast Christmas morning. :D
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
LOL, I woke up one night when I was like six or seven, and I had to pee, so I took care of that. Then I was like, oh shit, I wonder if Santa has come yet?!?!?! So I sneeeeeaked down the hallway to the living room which is where the tree was, and I peeked onto the couch to see if there were presents there yet. And there were not presents. There was a pile of clean clothes my mom must have washed that night and hadn't gotten around to folding up yet. Which leads me to...
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I'm pretty sure the night I sneaked out to check on presents that I already kinda knew there was no Santa. I didn't have an epiphany or some bully spilling the beans or anything like that. But as I stood there looking at that pile of clothes I remember getting SO ANGRY and thinking that I couldn't believe my parents were having Santa give us CLOTHES for our big present, CLOTHES, Santa is supposed to give you TOYS. So I kinda think I always sort of knew that "Santa" was just a device. I don't think my parents were really big on pretending Santa was real, though, either.
So why is this my favorite memory? Because I went back to bed and fucking stewed for like two hours until I fell back asleep, and then I sulked into the living room that morning to look at my stupid pile of clothes, and of course my mom had already folded them up and put them away, and there were toys there instead! And I was so shocked, so flabbergasted, so excited and surprised, it was really the greatest.
I of course have absolutely no memory of what I actually ended up getting.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
My Grandpa always gives my parents money to buy us presents rather than buy us presents himself. He always comes over for dinner on Christmas Eve, and we open one present that we designate as "from Grandpa," so he can see us open it. There have been many times when we've picked one out and my parents have been like, "nodon'topenthatonegetthatonethatone'ssocksokay."
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
For awhile our tree was, like, a tree that Christmas had thrown up on. It was covered with everything. Lights, garland, balls, ornaments we'd made, Hallmark ornaments, all kinds of random shit. The last several hours of putting up the tree involved hunting down a bare branch tip to hang something else on. The last few years we've scaled it down, and just do lights and a few different ornaments. My personal trees are all ~themed, with matching lights and ornaments, because that's how I roll.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
It's pretty, but it's a pain to shovel and drive in, and my dad works outside, so I don't really wish for it because it makes it a really hard time for him.
12. Can you ice skate?
LOLOL. No. I tried once and fell down all over the place.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
I can't even describe how excited I was at the age of 12 when my parents got me a rock polisher. This is not a "that's what she said." It's like a barrel that you put rocks in and smoothing thingies and you turn it on for like two weeks and it just jiggles and shakes and makes, like, vaguely more smooth rocks.
My family still makes fun of me about this.
14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
See, here's the thing. I'm an atheist, so I celebrate Christmas as a purely secular fun-time exercise. I don't let myself get stressed about it, because I don't have to celebrate it if I don't want to. So I do what I like and skip what I don't like. The most important thing for me is having a pleasant, relaxing day or couple of days. We don't get dressed on Christmas or go anywhere. Everyone sits in their PJs, eats leftovers, and plays with their gifts all day. Maybe we get together at some point and watch a movie. We'll all take naps. The end.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?
Caramel turtle bars. WHAT UP.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Driving around some night a few nights before Christmas in fancy rich neighborhoods and looking at people's Christmas lights. IDK.
17. What tops your tree?
Nothing fancy. Two have stars, one has a big bow, one doesn't have a topper as far as I know.
18. Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
Ah, the question designed to point you out as a selfish person. I like giving and receiving, so there. There's nothing better than finding or making the perfect present for someone. There's nothing better than getting something awesome you didn't have to pay for. This is known.

Are wonderful! I love hard candy of any type, though.
