That is truly lovely. The concept of fire fruit is really unique, and I love the counting (god, do I know that ritual...), but somehow I can't get over laughing at 'minbar, with a little 'm'?' Don't know why but that strikes me as a typical John wandering thought. He must have kept up his amusement and admiration of her culture through his long life.
