Girrrrrl Gates's hair in the first season, it just killed me. It's like they intentionally fried it and made it look as awful as possible. I think in the later seasons she was just wearing a wig, wasn't she?

Not really, no. I found the Trek fandom to be too huge and firmly entrenched to even attempt to make inroads. I looked for P/C fic once but didn't find much - was probably looking in the wrong place.
