Pardon me while I boggle for a while at 83,000 words for a Part One. I'm still stuck on 32,000 and change, and wondering if I'll even make it to 50,000 for my whole novel.

Yeahhhhh, I don't know if it's a good thing? One of my biggest problems/weaknesses in long prose is that I tend to describe everything, instead of being comfortable just saying, like, "they had an argument and she ended with this, and they didn't talk for three weeks." That kind of thing. I'm sure when I edit I'll cut a lot of stuff out, or condense it down.

Isn't 83,000 enough for a novel in itself? That's pretty awesome!

Haha, yes. It's too long. And what I have outlined as parts might end up being separate novels. But I'm not doing big macro edits right now, so I'm not worrying about it.

Hey, too long is better than too short. That just means it'll be a series instead of one book. :)
