This is heartbreaking :( But beautiful, and you know, it's such a good capture of what it's like to be 17 and in love. That feeling of "it can't possibly ever be any better than this" or "it can't possibly ever be any worse than this" is so true, and I love how John carries that here.

I assume there is more? And... maybe an epilogue that implies a happy ending? Maybe?
