Yeah, I think the kind of usual shippiness isn't really there, but Mulder's just absolute desperation in trying to save Scully was the first time I was like, whoa, he really cares about her. A lot.

(Except I was 12, so I was like, "OMG Mulder loves Scully they should get married squee!!!11")
